Galco USA IWB holster review

#1

Post by HOSSISFREE »

After carrying at work for about a week, I can now review my Galco USA Leather tuckable IWB holster.

This holster is designed for smaller guns to be carried IWB. It has a J-hook for your belt that mounts low on the holster so you can tuck in your shirt between your pants and the holster.

As a service technician I wear jeans or shorts (depending on the workload for the day) with a company T-shirt every day. Normally untucked, but I do tuck on occasion. Working outdoors for the most part, wearing only a T-shirt, I can not conceal my primary carry weapon. (H&K USP .45 full size) I then carry my BUG only. A Kel-Tec P3AT .380 in the Galco USA holster.

It has worked wonderfully. It does not move or shift about. As small as it is, I had thought it would. Neither sweat from a hot day, nor the rain we have recently experience have created any problems. It holds tight working in any position. I am often stooping, crawling, on my back, etc... I feel it when I first put it on, as with any holster, but soon don't even think obout it. (unless I happen to roll over on it....ouch!) It is very comfortable.

The only problem I have had with it was finding the most comfortable position. (just in front of 9 o'clock) I carry it on my left (weak hand) as it is my BUG, and I primarily shoot it at the range with my weak hand.

You can see it on Galco's web site here:

It's the one on the left.

Sorry, I just had to comment. I'll be on the lookout when I'm passing thru Tomball from now on, I have to drive by there to get to Houston.

I recently decided that I want to carry a full size gun when I am in the mood. I purchased a Glock 22 (I need to post pics of it in a thread) a couple of weeks ago and have carried it IWB under a t-shirt for the last couple of days on my afternoon walk around the neighborhood. I thought it would be much more difficult than it actually is. There are some things I do not like about the holster I am using, but eventually I plan to carry either my Glock 17 or 22 full time! Good luck and thanks for the review on the holster. It looks like a great BUG setup.
