My First Trip to the Range

This is about a month ago and my first trip to the range after buying my Glock 19. I've shot a few other handguns a couple of times. I had maybe about 40 rounds of experience with a handgun but that was nearly 10 years ago. Anyway, here are the results from about 30 feet:

I was really surprised with the accuracy and the recoil which was almost non existent! There are about 90 rounds in this target. The strays in the torso were the first few rounds but I was able to make adjustments in my grip. I'm still trying to work out why most of my hits were to the left of center. I'm thinking it may be recoil anticipation Not bad considering I did this to my hand the week before at a football tournament!:

Good shootin' your first time out! :clapping:

Number of reasons for being slightly left, could be your sights need slight adjustment or could be your stance, grip, trigger pull etc.

I've found these training targets awfully helpful to correct any "faults" with my technique ....

Also at the bottom of that page, the deck of cards target is a fun game to play with friends at the range. See who can get the best 5-card poker hand etc.

Welcome to the forum. You should enjoy that G19. It's reliable, easy to care for and easy to use.

I like mine, but I seldom carry it on my person as it's a little bulky for me. I do usually have it with me in my car or messenger bag.

Despite what anybody tells you, no one ever cleans a Glock  They're like the Energizer Bunny, they keep going, and going and going...:

Now, go get yourself a nice 1911. It's a must have firearm. :fire
