In Austin ... looking for help

#1

Post by tamc9395 »

I should receive the plastic shortly and I am looking for help from a CHL in the Austin area. I assume there is someone out there that would allow be to carry their preferred gun/holster -- even on a wally walk - to let me figure out if that is the right package for me.

Call me cheap, but I thought I woud ask for the help first,

I think it would depend on the pistol you will be wanting to holster that will determine the responses you get.

It'd help to know what you plan on carrying. (besides, we LOVE to talk about guns.)

I have a 9M M&P that I use normally, but I am looking for a easy/compact similar gun/holster. I know this is very broad, but the comfort (including the "punch") is as important as the rest of the package.

Oh boy! You've opened up the floodgates now! Sounds like you're wanting recommendations on BOTH a compact carry gun AND the myriad of holsters available for it! :biggrinjester:

Get ready for a bazillion different answers. "rlol"

As a long time "reader" that is one of the reasons I am looking for a CHL "friend" to allow the "free" trial - I will even throw in lunch.... :cheers2:

I have a full size 1911 that I love but is a little on the bulky side. For that reason I recently picked up a springfield xd sub compact 9mm. The xd is an excellent gun and easy to carry. I have a comptac mtac for both pistols for iwb carry, and a Blackhawk cqc without the locking mechanism for owb.

We will race to see who wins the plastic! :clapping:

Alright for lack of other responses, I propose a "show and tell" at Pluckers on Lakeline/620 at 12:00 on December 4. I am sure I violated some protocal, but I am new (btw I am not a LEO) and screw it.

I am really curious about the compact easy to carry option - lunch is free is to first person who responds. :bigear:

Heck, even if you were a LEO, anyone meeting at your selected spot will be legal
with regards to their CHL.

But maybe not with regard to their speeding on the way to the meeting! :-)
