Finally! :)

Post by La Longue Carabine »

New to the site.
Just (finally! :totap: ) got the doggone card in the mail today. Well, the GF and I went to Freebirds first tonight, and then we went to JC Penney's and walked around for about an hour and a half.
I was carrying my HK USP compact in a cheap paddle holster (got better ones coming in for this and another for my Walther PPQ) on the right, and a two mag carrier on the left. Cover garment was a t-shirt and an unbuttoned flannel.

So, everything was good to go. I haven't done a wally-walk yet because I don't really have a reason to go there right now. But Penney's is extremely well lit, and no one saw anything despite me carrying with possibly one of the worst holsters for CC ever. :thumbs2:

I will say that I'm a bit weary to really get out and about more till my better holsters get here.
It'll just be a few days for the Safariland for my HK, and late January ( :yawn ) for my Raven for my Walther.

Yeah, pretty good first trip. Welcome to the forum.

You mentioned waiting for better holsters, but didn't say anything about a belt. Unless you already have an actual gun belt, you should also look into one or two of those. Different colors or styles for different clothes. I've had one that's good enough for most, but still think about getting a nice black one to go with some of my slacks.

Quite true.
I typically wear a pretty heavy belt with my jeans, but getting a purpose built gunbelt or two couldn't hurt at all.

Great! Thanks... now I gotta buy something else.

The belt you already have may be a heavy belt, but that is also what many have thought until they see a real gun belt. I was once one of those people. You might be surprised.

Excellent - always carry.

I bought a couple of thick leather belts at Tractor Supply of all places - $10-15, I've been wearing one of them almost every day for several months. I've got a problem spending $50-60 bucks on a real gun belt :???: .
