Reason for legal & civil tongues

#1

Post by longtooth »

I choose to post this here because I think it is basic foundation for new members, new shooters, & reminder to all us older ones that we are being watched when we do not think about it.

We are being watched every day by those who know we are gun owners even if they do not know who has a CHL or even what one is.

We are being watched on this board also by those who are thinking of joining.

We are being watched by those who would use anything they can twist or spin for their own advantage. ie Zumbo incident.

Below is a post I pulled from another forum. The writer has over 1,000
posts so was evidently very active in "what he started out doing." Intrapment.
This is another reason we moderators watch so closely the things that are said when frustration begins to build.
We know we are being watched & read, probably daily, by the antis & maybe others like the gentleman below. This one saw the light of the Constitution & the true Character of the good people of the land. I do not have such high & lofty hopes for the Brady Campaign & those who fly their flag above the Stars & Stripes.

It's time to tell the truth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been a member of this forum for more than a year and a half now, and it has really opened my eyes. I have learned things about firearm ownership that I never expected, and I have come to see gun owners in a new light. I no longer believe guns should only be possessed by people like me who are professionals working for the government, but all US citizens.

So here is my confession; I am an ATF Agent. Yes, it's true. I joined this forum to spy on its members and entrap them into committing crimes. It was my hope that by arresting as many of you gun nuts as possible, I would be able to impress my bosses and join the Operation Achilles Special Assault Team targeting career machine gun dealers.

Instead, though I netted a few gun owners early on who were ignorant of the law and my agency's tactics, I found I did not want to harass innocent gun owners. Instead, I found that guns were really cool, and so were guns owners. I came to hate the agency I worked for, and began to work less and less on catching gun nuts with wild plans involving shoe laces and rubber bands. Finally, on March 31st, I gave my resignation. I plan to spend the next several years traveling for the NRA and lecturing on the abuses of the ATF.

Thank you all for opening my eyes.

Good advice in any case, but today is April Fools Day ..

Not knowing the personalities I kind of wonder if this couldn't be a harmless hoax.

OK folks LISTEN UP.

I just got a PM (thank you Liberty)
Nieve little me. Today is April Fool & the truth of the matter is this could be from someone that is not the real ATF.

All the reasoning around it is still valid.
I will watch it on the other board to see what develops & if I wind up w/ egg on my face after church this morning would one of you nice mommies get a wash rag & help me clean up a little before you fix my plate.

The April Fool's thing escaped me but it seemed a little off base. I Googled Operation Achilles and didn't find anything related to the ATF. It pointed to some anti-Taliban operations but nothing to do with Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
Just an observation
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

A good hoax and laugh on April fools day is not a bad thing. It is one of the traditions on the net that I enjoy heartily. :-)

Check out Google every rear they get into the spirit, although it backfired on them 2 years ago when they announced gmail with 1 gig email. Everyone thought it was a hoax. ;-)

Hoax or no hoax, thanks for posting, LT. We are being watched by a variety of people who have a variety of reasons for watching us. Thanks for the reminder.
