All
I have just finished the class portion am about to begin the online application.
One thing that I am not sure about
In May 2008 i received a disorderly conduct for public urination and under went
Deferred judification . It has been 5 years since this issue, since I have kept a clean record with
Some traffic tickets but nothing serious. I was young and dumb.
What should I do, I want to apply but do not want to get declined
Please help me out with some advice

15. If I received deferred adjudication for an offense, am I eligible for a Concealed Handgun License (CHL)?
The Concealed Handgun law states that deferred adjudication will be considered the same as a conviction. Depending on the type of offense and the date of deferral, you may not be eligible for a CHL.

If it is 5 years from the date of defferal you should be OK. Just make sure you list the offense on your application and provide something from the court clerk where the incident occurred showing the disposition of the offense.Gurushooter2010 wrote:All

According to chl16 a 42.01. conviction requires a 5 year wait. See eligibility section of chl-16.
Assuming your CONVICTION (not arrest) date was May 2008, I believe you're OK.
You'll need to disclose the conviction on your application.
