New From Out of State

#1

Post by Drifter »

I moved back in Texas about nine months ago  , having lived in other states for the past 25 years. I recently sent in my CHL application, providing my previous addresses in California  for the past 10 + years, prior to moving back to Texas. I lived in San Antonio for seven years, but that was about 25 years ago, so it did not show on my application.

My question is, "How will this affect the processing of my application, time wise?"

Am I at the mercy of LA and San Mateo County in CA to respond to inquiries from TXDPS? There is be nothing in my background to stop the application (as far as I know), but I'm wondering just what kind of background checks are done and who is contacted?

Howdy, Drifter! I'm certain that one of the Forum's CHL Instructors will be able to answer those questions.
The last train out of any station will not be filled with nice people.

Welcome, Fellow California Refugee!
I lived in Alameda County non-consecutively for 10 years, with a 5 year stint in Arizona.

My CHL was issued in 61 days, mailbox to mailbox, so California did not slow the process up at all.

As far as the older addresses, I'm not sure, but I just wanted to welcome another fellow California Refugee!
