Hi all, I just took my CHL course yesterday and was about to start filling out the application and all the related paperwork, and I've got a few questions about paying the fee to the DPS.

First of all, is there anyway to pay online? I've already got an application packet from the class, and the only option to pay online I see on the DPS website looks as if it's ordering a totally new packet. Is there an option to send in the completed application I have, but pay the fee online by credit card?

Secondly, assuming I can't pay online, personal checks ARE accepted now, right? I apparently got a few older forms that still say cashier's check or money order only.

Your check is OK in the packet.
I do not know about the on line pmt AFTER THE FACT but one of the instructors should cover that pretty quick.

Bob check's are accepted now and best not to sign-up online now because they would issue you a CHL# and all your paperwork has the CHL# given you by your Instructor, it would just cause problems.

I paid with a cashiers check and it did not slow anything down. R
