I'm relatively new to concealed carry, but I have always been on the lookout for the perfect concealment rig. Guess what? I haven't found it yet. The closest I've come to a holster that meets most of my criteria for concealment is the Belly-Band by DeSantis (http://www.desantisholster.com/060.html). It accomodates my Taurus PT145 and I can tuck my shirt over the gun. It also has pockets for extra mags, a second gun (cross-draw) and can also conceal money and credit cards.

Galco also makes a belly-band (http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterT3.asp?Pr ... alogID=359) and they are both comparable in price.

The Kangaroo Carry works for me. I carry a Kahr PM9 in it a lot.

Actullay it is comfortable, it is made of cotton. I can actually wear it next to my skin. It does not go around your stomach but just below your pecs thus it does not bind or constrict when you sit or bend over as a belly band sometimes does.

I just keep in mind when I'm carrying "it isn't supposed to be comfortable, it supposed to be comforting".

A .45 cal. security blanket.

I have a desantis on-the-belt holster that I absolutely love. The retention is great and the leather is superb. I will never buy another leather holster...until next week

I don't have any experience with a belly band, but I will second the Kangaroo holster idea. It does work well, it allows for very deep concealment when you need to tuck in your shirt and look nice. Let us know what you decide on, and be sure to include a review after you've carried with it for a few days.

Just ordered the DeSantis Belly band. I (will when my card comes in) carry a glock 23 and a taurus snub nose. I spend alot of time in work out attire and figure this won't "telegraph" as much as my fanny pack. However, I feel "telegraphing" without actually showing is a deterrent in certain circumstances.

I know this is a very old thread but I just now saw it.
Couple of questions for anyone using the belly band or kangeroo band holsters:
1. How do you get to your weapon very fast if you are wearing a tucked-in, buttoned shirt? Wouldn't you have to unbutton the shirt first?
2. I sweat like crazy in the armpits and from the photo of the kangeroo holster it looks like the exposed butt of the gun is really close to the armpit. How do you keep it dry & rust free - the gun, not the armpit?

If you're planning on carrying it in that area, I suggest carrying a semi-compact Glock. Very reliable and durable, especially if you are the sweaty one.

It's not designed for the old West style quick draw. It is designed for concealment. Not all encounters are going to be decided by how fast you can draw. Situational awareness makes a bigger impact on whether you make it home that day or not.
