So my wife (may) want to get her CHL but has some questions. What are these questions you ask? I don't know, she just has questions and wants answers, or at least she wants answers to questions she might have, but hasn't thought of yet . The only one she has actually asked me is: Will her current or any potential future employer be able to find out she has a CHL by doing a background check?
Can anyone point me to a site with info about CHL that might answer some of her unthought of questions?

No. Only law enforcement can find out.

At least one company requires employees to inform them if they have a CHL, but they can no longer find out from DPS.

There are very few questions that have not been asked and answered here. She can use the Search button (at the top of the screen) to locate information without asking questions.

If she is really hesitant to visit this forum there is an all ladies forum called Women and Guns that I'm also a member of. Just go to the home page and then click on the message boards and thats it (ofcourse you have to register to post but she can always search and lurk to see if her questions have already been answered.)

Thanks all for the sites and offers for help, I will give her the info and let her decide. Funny thing is, when I told her the date of the class I'm taking, she asked me if she could go too. Then she started worrying...that's what she does Said she wanted to think about it today. As of now, she says she doesn't have time to think about it and won't commit to going to the class with me next month. I gues I'm frustrated, but I'd rather she say no now than say no the morning of the class. I know better than to try and convince her or to try and answer her questions.. Husband and wife shouldn never try to teach each other anything! I'll do my best to point her in the right direction. I don't think her concerns are with firearms, she's been married to me for too long to be nervous. She has her own bedside pistol that she's very possesive of. She is, however a "what if" person i.e. "What if I'm walking the dog at night and a racoon comes at us, can I shoot it?" What I wanted to say is, what are the odds of her actually walking the dog...alone...at night? But I just shrugged my shoulders and said I didn't know. Thanks again, I'll keep y'all posted.

That's a question of skill, not legality. Very few people can hit a moving animal with a pistol. But that racoon will be out of sight after the flash and bang.

Those are the types of questions and concerns I was reffering to. The women in my classes have some specific questions but generally want a discussion of the topic to get at concerns that aren't exactly questions but require an answer.

All those are questions that would be answered in the class. She just needs to go ahead and take the class.

Just because you take the class doesn't mean you have to apply for the license. She can decide after the class if she wants to get the license.

Besides, what better way to bond as a couple than by spending 10 quality hours together learning something valuable?

Hi Bubba,

When it comes to asking questions --- one I always ask myself when I'm sitting on the fence about something, is -> "Will I regret not doing (--- fill in the blank ---)"? In this case, would she regret not having a CHL when sometime down the road she might have a turn of events when she would need to be legally carrying in order to protect herself?

It is not yet not an automatic "habit" for me to grab a ccw when I leave the house to run errands. Sometimes I think, "I don't need it, I'm just running to Walmart", or "I'm just going to go get a tank of gas", or "I'm just going to walk the dog".

And then I remember reading the news about so many more violent crimes occurring during what we consider every day events - like all the recent robberies in shopping mall parking lots and attempted car jackings. Today at one of the local golf courses, men were robbed at gunpoint on one of the greens. A few weeks ago a woman in our area held her dr and some other patients hostage in the Dr's office.

All of these are places we all go to on a routine basis and used to think nothing of it. BUT NOW WE HAVE TO START THINKING of the things that COULD HAPPEN and hopefully be prepared to react if they do.

I have internal arguements with myself all the time. When I find myself thinking "I don't need it" or "I don't need to take the time to get it"; then I weigh that against thinking what I would feel if didn't have it but needed it... and my choice is made.

Those days I used think, "I'm just running to the grocery store", "I'm just going to fill up the gas tank", "I'm just going to the movies" or "We're just going to the mall" ... and running out the house unprepared are over.

Ask your wife to join us here as moodyAmber suggested, the womanandguns forum if she wants more of a woman's group to talk things over with.
