Picture & signature wrong on ID

#1

Post by mastrtech »

I recently sent in for a change of address on my CHL. New ID came back with all the info. correct just somebody else's face & signature on card. I sent in an e-mail to DPS but no response yet, am I still legal to carry? Should I carry both id's?

Thanks,

John

Welcome again to the Forum. I have heard about this happening before, but I cannot give you the correct answer, but I believe you are legal until your correct license arrive. You already had a CHL if I understand you right. We have serveral instructors, etc. . . on the forum and one of them will have the right answer.

Carlson1,

Thanks for the welcome. Yes my CHL was valid before. I sent in for the change online, & my new card came in the mail a few days ago. The only problem is theres a picture of a 60 some odd year old man on it instead of my 29 year old face (my wife says i look older).

The wife is having a field day with it. She says he's got better hair than me. Damn that receding hair line.

John,

You are legal to carry with your old CHL until your new, and correct, one arrives in the mail. CALL DPS on Monday, don't rely on email. Trust me, they will correct it quickly.
