Lost CHL
Ok I did the stupid thing of setting my wallet on top of my jeep while I was changing out of my hunting gear and now it's between Houston & Beorne.
What Now! I closed all the credit cards, got that covered. I can't find anything on line as to what I do about my CHL. Please Help!

No gun in the purse.

So if you don't have a license, you're committing UCW.PC §46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY.
(b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who:
(6) is carrying a concealed handgun and a valid license issued under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, to carry a concealed handgun of the same category as the handgun the person is carrying;
Now, I've been told that the police can look up whether you have a CHL. If you have a photocopy of your DL and CHL and some other ID like a passport, a nice police officer might let you go.
Otherwise, when your trial date comes up, I would expect the judge to let you off.

He can bring charges, but he can't force a judge to rule the way he wants.Molon_labe wrote:**cough** Chuck Rosenthal *cough**seamusTX wrote: I would expect the judge to let you off.
I don't know of any of the people who were arrested for car carry who went to trial.
This situation is much like driving without your driver license. It's technically illegal, but most cops will let you off, and AFAIK, judges always do.
