Me too. Must be our age. I just found out there's an expression of surprise called, "Oh snap!" Snap what? :confused5
"Oh, snap!" replaces another exclamation where "Oh,...." is followed by the usual 4 letter word when something bad surprises one.

I don't know how long ago "Oh, snap" has been around, but it was an exclamation used by <Peter Skarsgaard, sp?> in the comical 2006 VW ads entitled "Unpimp My Ride." So it goes back to 2006, maybe earlier. This is the actor who fed Steve Buscemi to the wood chipper in the movie "Fargo". I always school GTI drivers I talk to about this series. Most have not heard of it since it's now getting to be 13 years old.

Good situational awareness. It's nice that you got some confirmation that your instincts were correct.

I've had a few occasions where I have commanded someone firmly to not approach me. Did I overreact? I'll never know. At best, I've avoided a dangerous interaction. At worst, they thought that I am terribly rude. I can live with that.

Great story, and a good reminder for all. Keep your wits about you and be aware of your surroundings at all times and even more so in public places where you are vulnerable such as highway rest stops.

Situational awareness cannot be stressed enough! I applaud your instincts, and your actions. You will never know what their intentions were, but you will always know that you drove away safely.

This times a million. I have read that book a couple of times and need to go back through it again. DeBecker also has a few YT videos that are also worth the time.
