I showed her Obama's record on gun control for the 2nd time and told her that there was no way i was going to go listen to him when i could play World Of Warcraft instead :)
So she and a friend went and i could actally hear the darn rally all the way to my apartment (san marcos isnt a big city).
Anyway, she got back and told me he was good and had many good ideas, and that i should have gone. I told her that many people vote for what they beleive is an important issue to them. Some the War, others Social Security, etc etc. I told her that the 2nd Amendment/gun rights was mine and there was NO WAY i could give Obama my time.
She undertands.
Anyway, i recieved this info from the local Chamber:
I just wanted to ask under what law do they restrict a CHL holder from carrying on a public park just cuz a politician is speaking there?Attendees are asked to park at the Bobcat Village commuter parking and the front lot of Bobcat Stadium and take a free shuttle to Sewell Park.
Other information to note:
l Leave purses, bags and backpacks at home. Participants will be screened through metal detectors and any bags will be searched, slowing access to the event
l No weapons of any kind are allowed, including knives or pepper spray
l No lawn chairs are allowed
l Cameras and cell phones are allowed.
Take care all
Edit: I passed over this part of my email:
However, im pretty sure that our CHL's allow us to carry while on school "grounds" just not in "buildings"The rally will be held at Sewell Park on the Texas State campus with the program starting at 9 p.m.
I can understand it being Obama's event/program/party and having his own rules regarding who gets in, but can someone do that on property owned by the university? Or maybe these are University's rules for the event, but then again, is this considered a "school event"?
If this was a school sponsored event, i would guess that about would do it for CHL holders.
I have too many questions, lol.
