I know this question has been asked before, but I can't find it through the search feature. My wife and I took our CHL class in August, I turned in my paperwork and have received my CHL but she did"nt turn hers in. She is ready to send hers in now, but I didn't know if the application would expire or anything being that it has already been notarized and what not. Does anybody know if it is still valid? And if so or not, what is the time frame for future reference?
Thanks.
Justin

Re: Application Time
I stand to be corrected, but I believe you have 6 months to get the package in to the state with the "fee" included for it to still be a valid submittal...I do not know what you would have to do to if that time frame has expired...
My recommendation would be to give the CHL office in Austin a call and see what they say you should do...I know in the past, some folks have waited almost up to the point of 6 months and sent it in, and still received their license...
The question I, and a few others may wonder is why did "she" wait this long to decide to send it in???

Re: Application Time
The time frame for new applications is:
1 year from the date you applied and paid online, OR
2 years from the date on the TR-100, if you did not pay online
1 year from the date you applied and paid online, OR
2 years from the date on the TR-100, if you did not pay online
Re: Application Time
Is there not an issue with how long the shooting qualification is good for? I thought I remember that being the limiting factor when a 20yo friend of mine wanted to take the class, but that was some time ago.

Re: Application Time
It was a monetary issue. We had the money but she felt that putting her application in front of some other issues we had going on was not the right thing to do.
I completely support her in that and let it go as I was not willing to force her to do something that she did not see as a priority and create a rift. Pick your battles ya know!
Anyhow, we have a lot of things taken care of that free up some cash so we can get it done without her feeling like she is taking away from something else. Hope that makes sense.
We took the class and have completed all the paperwork, so it looks like we should be good to go with a money order to the state and a trip to the PO!!
