That's probably because Louisiana Laws have considered the vehicle an extension of your home and almost forever it has been legal to have a handgun in your car. I was stationed there in 1976 and it was legal then for sure.

It was on my person and I was out of the vehicle when I gave him all my info though. Nonetheless you are correct about car carry in Louisiana. It's still the same way here. :patriot:

Not all TX LEO's get that information from a routine traffic stop. The TXDPS always knows before he gets to your vehicle.

I got pulled over in Kansas by the Highway Patrol and gave him my DL and CHL he said i'll be back in a minute and he gave me a ticket,so i said why you give me a ticket cause I'm exercising my right to carry a concealed weapon and he said nope I gave ya a ticket cause ya was speeding dipstick :shock:

I don't believe that is true. How could they possibly know who is driving the car? I have driven driven cars owned registered to my Mom my brother my wife, The folks I even drove a car for 5 years that was registered to a dead in law. I have had cars registered to me, but I never hardly ever drove them. My wifes car is registered to me mine is registered to her.

Texas provides pretty good incentives for Galveston/Harris County drivers to own cars that are registered out of county.
