That's probably because Louisiana Laws have considered the vehicle an extension of your home and almost forever it has been legal to have a handgun in your car. I was stationed there in 1976 and it was legal then for sure.

It was on my person and I was out of the vehicle when I gave him all my info though. Nonetheless you are correct about car carry in Louisiana. It's still the same way here.

My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.

Not all TX LEO's get that information from a routine traffic stop. The TXDPS always knows before he gets to your vehicle.

Re: Pulled Over Outside of Texas?
I don't believe that is true. How could they possibly know who is driving the car? I have driven driven cars owned registered to my Mom my brother my wife, The folks I even drove a car for 5 years that was registered to a dead in law. I have had cars registered to me, but I never hardly ever drove them. My wifes car is registered to me mine is registered to her.AEA wrote:Not all TX LEO's get that information from a routine traffic stop. The TXDPS always knows before he gets to your vehicle.
Texas provides pretty good incentives for Galveston/Harris County drivers to own cars that are registered out of county.
