Yes it contained a quote. I posted it last night, came back a little later and it was gone. First time it happened to me. Do we have a gremlin here? I'm going to start setting some traps. When that gremlin hits the trip wire, BAM he gets hit upside the head with a 30.06 sign.Charles L. Cotton wrote:When did you post it and did it contain a quote like this one? Flint seems to be having a similar problem and El Gato had it earlier. I'm trying to run it down now, but that'll likely be far beyond my meager I/T talents! Hopefully, the phpbb folks will have a fix soon.one eyed fatman wrote:So did someone delete my reply to this post? It seems to be gone.

I don't know why we're seeing it with versioin 2.0.19, since it's been installed for several weeks now. I think El Gato's problem does go back a while, so I guess Flint's and yours are not the first with this version. From the phpbb forum, there seems to be a number of bugs in 2.0.20, so I'm not going to load it until those are cleared up.
If anyone else has a problem with posts, please let me know; not that I know what to do, but I would like to see how widespread the problem is. From what I've read, it's only happening on posts that contain a quote.

Quote: "From what I've read, it's only happening on posts that contain a quote. " Another reason for doing 'em the old fashioned way. And it takes up less space and is often not so "pointy fingered" toward the guy that said it.
Along that line and back on the original topic, I did a quick search and pulled the following "quote" from a guy in Atlanta back during a rash of NDs (at "posted" gun shows) around 2002:
" I was there
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my first post on TFL (heck of a first post). I've been around shotguns and rifles since I was a kid but am a newbie to handguns. I just too my NRA Basic Pistol course a few weeks ago and this was my first gun show (I was looking for a Ruger MkII to learn with).
Anyway, my brother and I were standing about 15 ft away when it happened. If the bullet had exited the back of the kids head, it would have whizzed by within probably 10 ft of us. That is not a very pleasant thing to think about.
I'm not going to try to guess as to what happened because I don't know. But here's what I saw. We were just standing at a booth looking at some rifles when a shot rang out. What's funny is that it didn't startle me at all. I just calmly thought to myself that some moron just fired a gun. Then I began to think that it must not have been a really big gun because it was close but my ears weren't ringing. The next thing I noticed was how quiet it was. It was like everyone was holding there breath waiting for something to happen. That's when the yelling started. The next few minutes were like a strange dream, to see someone lying on the ground with a puddle of blood all around their head. "
Above and beyond the grief for loved ones at "a family venue", ya think stuff like THIS does not give the antis ammo?
And an opinion expressed by an FFL holder on that thread: " An indictment for criminally negligent homicide would be a plus. "
