I agree that the legislature needs to revise the law to allow open carry. Both New Mexico and Arizona have unlicenced open carry laws and don't seem to have criminals grabbing guns away or a public outcry about guns in the open.

To those with the belief that BG's will see your holstered weapon and try to grab it from you...

Do you really think BG's are that brave? 98% of criminals are cowards, just look at how many groups vs. 1 good guy goes when the good guy draws a gun. They scatter, even if they have a gun themselves. The BG isn't going to try to take your weapon from you for fear that he won't succeed and then end up with a few extra holes where there were none 30 seconds ago.

I believe that the chances of a BG trying to take a weapon out of someones holster is so remote that it should be nothing more than #5 on the checklist as you go through your awareness.

I agree DK. I know there is the rare anything can & does occasionally happen. Generally though, if they want to steel a gun they will seek a empty house. If they want a wallet or purse they will seek an easy victim not an armed citizen. Deterrent factor again not shoot me 1st.
