Brady wants you to believe the middle ages and ancient Rome were peaceful because they didn't have guns.

why?
under what circumstances?
Texas is not an open carry state, but open carry is legal on your own property, is that bad too?
Its perfectly legal to open carry at a gun range or while hunting, do you wish to continue to exempt those examples?

I'm just trying to understand the details of this statement.
thanks.
It's a spin on the typical antigun arguments.

"Only the police and military should allowed to open carry a gun."

"If you open carry a gun the criminal will take it away and shoot you with it."

"If Texans open carry guns it will be like the Wild West with blood in the streets!"

"Open carrying guns is okay in other states but Texas is different."

"I don't need to open carry a gun so nobody needs to open carry a gun."

Don't forget: Every business in the State will immediately forbid ALL who carry (openly or concealed) from entering their establishments. Other than that....you pretty much covered it. :thumbs2: ;-)

I oppose open carry for one reason--timing. This is not the congress and president that we want to provoke to action on guns.

Although I am for OC, this is a point I can not argue.

I agree it is the wrong political climate, I would like to see some serious discussion though.

Actually this would be the best reason. Make them squirm. The power rests with the people and the states.

I agree. The dips in D.C. need to be reminded that they represent the citizens of the U.S., not dictate to us.
