I went to Academy in Galveston today. Absolutely no hand gun ammo. Said they couldn't get it.

Just visited the Wally World in Houston @ 610 and Post Oak and they had about 2000+ rounds of BB 40 S&W for $12.47 each. I picked up 6 boxes and the misses picked up 6. They really were not enforcing the limit but 600 rounds is plenty for this weekend. The pricing is funny because I just picked up 3 boxes of the same stuff at WW in Brenham for $12.97 on Monday. There was another guy who bought 3 boxes after us, but there was at least 10 boxes left when I leaving. also had some .25, .17, .22lr, 30-30, and .270. Now if we can just find some .45, we will be back in business! Good luck!

My walmart sells it for 29.99 . :grumble They probably bought it from Walmart. The guys at the walmart by me said they were getting wiped out by the local gun dealers for a month or so. Now that they have a limit, it isn't happening so much. One of the clerks told me that there were two guys that would be waiting every morning to get first grabs at the new shipment.

I was at Academy in East Plano this afternoon, and they had 100's of boxes of .223. Seriously, they had probably 1000 boxes of Monarch .223 55gr FMJ with steel casing for $7/box. They also had ~100 boxes of Monarch .223 55gr FMJ with brass casing - not sure of the price on those. Unfortunately, I can't shoot FMJ around here, so I didn't buy any. I did get the last two boxes of 9mm, though. They also had quite a few boxes in other rifle calibers, but I didn't look too close at those...

This ammo shortage is not just a Texas thing. We were in the Super-duper Wal-Mart in Montrose, CO yesterday and their shelves were barer than bare, as in nada. :grumble

You can if you're willing to drive 40 miles north to Ralphs. :thumbs2:

Its private property wherne teh owner lets everyone who cares to shoot.

Drive up 75 to Howe, go East to Tom Bean. Look for short bus with big mud tires. Its basically a 12 ft high by 50 ft long berm in a guys back yard.

$3/hr (on the honor system). No steel targets, clean up your mess and dont shoot each other.... but pretty much anything else goes.

Its really nice to be able to practice drawing, moving, speed drills, etc. The guys over at ARFcom even do their class III get togethers out there sometimes.
