I'd welcome him to the forum, but recommend he refrain from posting anything about the event until all the legal stuff is cleared. "Anything you say (type) can and will be used against you in a court of law," as they say.
And as others have said, from the limited info we have, it looks like he performed very well and likely gave a whole bunch of bad guys reason to reconsider their chosen line of work. Way to go! I would encourage him (if I could) that they chose this line of work and this event which caused one of them to die. They didn't give him a choice. I don't know how I'd deal with having ended someone's life, I think it'd be tough, but he did the right thing, as far as I can see.

I actually didn't know he had a CHL. I will talk to him the next time I see him.dicion wrote:Perhaps you should tell him to join us here on the forums, because we all have nothing but encouraging words for him!FlynJay wrote:Just realized today that I know the driver. He is a really mice guy and I am sure he is taking the whole situation pretty roughly. This one hit a little to close to home.
Sometimes, just knowing that other people have your back can help people get through a tough time.
Also, I'm sure lots of people here would like to hear the story from his mouth (fingers?) here, so that we all may learn.

I don't really see it as a joyous event. A friend had to take a life defending his own and somebody's son is no longer with us.
I'm not saying the kid is a saint, but celebrating his death is not something I'm going to do. Yes the good guys won the fight but celebrating it seems to me like losing the war.
