I searched, but couldn't find an answer.
Was there a recent change in the law concerning having a weapon in your vehicle in a private parking lot? To be more specific, can a company with a "no gun" policy prohibit you from storing your handgun in your car while parked on their lot? What about a parking garage that is NOT attached to the building?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Is there a new parking lot law?

Not in Texas. Nothing has changed in this respect for years. Was there a recent change in the law concerning having a weapon in your vehicle in a private parking lot?
There was a bill in the 2009 legislature, but it died as a result of parliamentary maneuvers.
I assume you are talking about your employer. Yes.can a company with a "no gun" policy prohibit you from storing your handgun in your car while parked on their lot?
The owner, tenant, or manager of the parking garage can post 30.06 signs and make it legally off-limits. Otherwise, the company can fire you for violating their policy if they find out. What about a parking garage that is NOT attached to the building?
