I 3rd or 4th (or is it 5th?) the appreciation for gigag04's participation and insight. No, I don't agree with everything he's put forth, BUT it's extremely valuable to me to have his insight and perspective.

As for me, I've been stopped once since getting my CHL (for a burned out license plate light). The deputy handled my CHL as though it didn't really matter to him. Yes, I was carrying.

Thanks again to gigag04.

Edited to add:

Many thanks to handog for giving us all the details of his wrongful treatment!! I've learned a lot from that, and I work in an office about two blocks from the RR police station.

What I got from the details provided is don't flash your gun in public and you probably won't have any problems, even in part of Texas that are being californicated.

I can do that! :thumbs2:

I’m Glad to hear some good may have come out or this by sharing my story austin. :tiphat: I'm glad gig was here as well. This would be a boring forum if we didn't have such different points of view.

I thought I could do it too. I just accidently "flashed" mine yesterday at Casa Ole parking lot. Walked half way to the front door before I noticed my shirt was on top of it. Facing the highway too. I know it sounds stupid but I had been to the car wash and it was in the console until we got to Casa Ole. I guess I was fumbling around with too much stuff when I was putting it in the holster(keys, wife's sunglasses, console lid). Anyway, nobody saw it I guess.

If you didn't, how did the 911 caller see it? Are they from Krypton and have xray vision on Earth? :biggrinjester:
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Hey, I'm from Krypton and I can tell you X-ray vision is not all it's cracked up to be. Skinny folks everywhere, looking like skeletons, it can really get a (super) man down.

I would say, Keep your wallet away from your gun (Why not carry it in front Left pocket, thats what I do)

Be aware of whose around you

Or at the least, make sure when going for your wallet you don't lift your shirt high enough to show your gun. I hate carrying a wallet in my front pocket, but II am very careful when I get my wallet that I don't show my weapon.
