This makes me sick, individuals like this do not qualify as humans, not even as animals since they rarely kill their own.yerasimos wrote:Contrast the story cited in sebis' original post with:

In one case, the victim takes four slugs, including two to the chest, and is expected to survive (how well he survives, TBD). In the other, a single shot to the neck kills the victim. Probable exsanguination, since he was not DRT. Shot placement and EMS response time probably account for the victims' divergent fates.
I can't believe someone would accept a job as a convenience store clerk and not have a 12 ga under the counter, like sitting ducks.... The clerk complied and did not show any signs of resistance.
As the gunman fled the store he fired a shot hitting Maknojia in the neck who later died.
No more assumed risk than you or I when walking away from an ATM. This just serves as a reminder of who the person walking behind us in the grocery store might be!sebis wrote:I can't believe someone would accept a job as a convenience store clerk and not have a 12 ga under the counter, like sitting ducks.

A reaction to these situations has to be planned before it occurs. Perhaps the gentleman in the corner store did what he thought best for survival.
Indeed, they do have a higher probability of being robbed than anyone and a mortality rate higher then police officers. As far as 12 ga goes, I have two next to my bed assigned for homeland security duties. I never went duck hunting thou...This could happen to any of us.....anytime and it is unlikely that we will have a 12 gauge unless we get held up while duck hunting. These folks might have a higher mortality rate than police officers!
