Well Put TAM,
and I should probably just let the thread die, but I just got one question.
What does a stereotypical CHL holder look like?
I honestly don't know, Some look like collage kids, some look like bikers, some look like bankers and some look like lawyers and judges. Some are real old. Some are bald and some have ponytails. Some are athletes, others are couch potatoes. Some wear tatoos. and piercings others wear suits.
Some are pretty ugly, a few of the most beautiful women I've ever met have CHLs. Some are Democrats, I know one who is Luddite.
Only thing I can say is in common with every CHL I ever met, is that they all like to talk guns.

I've even seen a 5 year old concealing a gun before... Well, a toy gun. Still, it was concealed in his pocket until he took it out. I think he must have been imitating his dad.can2boy wrote:that's the beauty of concealed carry my friend, you don't know who's armed!!!Liberty wrote:Well Put TAM,

Re: concealed means concealed!
Pretty sure I saw the same gentleman at the Valero on Sawdust that same night--Black T-Shirt with some comment about "Homicide" on it. I was going to mention something to him, but he was back in his car before I could get out of mine.hooknbullet wrote:Tinseltown in the Woodlands, this afternoon...saw a guy carrying OWB at 3 o'clock under a black t-shirt. From the outline it looked like a Glock. He was slightly bent over at the time, drying his hands next to me. Saw him standing straight a few minutes later; you couldn't see it then but he was making some adjustments, moving it around. Understandable after sitting through a 2 hour movie.
After reading the recent "cuffed & stuffed" thread, I'd hate for it to happen to someone else. Maybe try an IWB holster? Be careful out there.

At the risk of drawing a flame...I don't worry about whether it's "legitimate" or not. If he/she's not posing a threat to me or someone around me, I couldn't care less whether they have a proper CHL...Besides, it's been my experience that someone who "isn't supposed" to be carrying that hog leg hides it pretty deep...and isn't using a holster. (I know I know...stereotypes again!)Purplehood wrote:I would admit to stereotyping in such a situation. Does the person look to me like they would/should have a CHL? Do they look like a gang-banger?cubbyjg wrote:While i agree that giving a heads up would be nice, how would someone know that person has a CHL? What if that person is not allowed to carry at all and is carrying illegally? Personally, if the printing wasnt too bad, i wouldnt say anything. IMO, the majority of people who do not carry probably never even notice it or they would think its a cell phone. Would i have contacted the police or security? Probably not because i wouldnt want to cause that person legal problems.
Do they have a wife and kids nearby lending to a "legitimate" appearance? It is all very subjective I admit.

I would tend to get in a conversation about guns with the guy ~ the only way I would also call in the security guard was to find out what he's carrying too! But of course he is most likely just carrying his radio.can2boy wrote:I would have called security. ignorance of the law excuses no one.
I suppose if you lived in a non-FREE state and you were at the range and the guy had a 12-rd mag instead of the 10-rd legal mag > you would call in the Feds?
