CHL rights on a boat
This question came upon 2coolfishing, what are the laws concerning CHL holders on a personal boat? There seems to be more and more acts of piracy on local waters and I was wondering what our rights are.

on a boat where?
You can not legally have a loaded firearm on US Army Corps of Engineers lakes/reservoirs/property, even if you are in or launch at a State Park/County Park/City park. US Army does not recognize any State Issued license or even the Texas Motorist Protection Act .
If you are on a body of water regulated by a State/City/County or State river authority or National Parks Service or Dept or Fish and Wildlife or National Preserve or US Forestry Service or Texas Parks and Wildlife etc etc etc .... you are legal.
LCRA has had special legislation making it legal now.
Lake Falcon is another matter, ...... don't go past the buoy into Mexico !!!
On any water body ... go to the TPWD website and see who is the "CONTROLLING AUTHORITY"
Example:
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fi ... es/falcon/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Reservoir Controlling Authority
International Boundary & Water Commission
PO Box 1
Falcon Heights, Texas 78545
(956) 848-5211 or 5212
----------
I can't go to Whitney STATE PARK
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fi ... s/whitney/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Lake Whitney State Park
Lake Whitney
Reservoir Controlling Authority
US Army Corps of Engineers
285 CR 3602
Clifton, Texas 76634
(254) 694-3189
Every water body is different, but the ONLY places I know that do NOT honor CHLs are US Army properties ..... and Mexican Pirates with machine guns..... I just would go elsewhere other than Falcon (I KNOW, there are tournaments scheduled there .... but my life is more valuable than a 10 pounder and trophy .... There are Tourneys elsewhere too ....... like on USACE properties I can't go to .... but I go where I'm allowed to go.)
