Sensationalized news coverage about a mob of people bringing guns into the fair? I don't think that would help the cause. When the broadcaster explains the ambiguity of the owns or leases law--which Charles said in another thread would lose if currently challenged--and the public, in the way they associate guns with violence and the state fair with being a greater than average risk for violence together with the info that you're already allowed to carry there but object to searches or what the public will perceive to be a very easy documentation process, then you're guaranteed to lose that PR campaign.

What the heck is the point of that? Are ankle-holsters outlawed? :headscratch
I thing the point was that they knew they'd be VERY unlikely to hit on anything between the knees and ankles.

Fox 4 News coverage and the efforts of James Dark, who was then Executive Director of the TSRA, were the ones who got us into the State Fair in 2007, when they forbid CHL holders to carry there.

I think you're mis-reading what he said in regards to that.

He said that if we got back into 30.06 Legislatively, to try and modify it to further restrict property owners rights, or attempt to clarify it further, we would only lose ground, it would never get better, only worse.

However, currently, legally, it's rock solid.

If the TSF and its parking is in such a bad area and if there is such a hassle getting in with your CCW, why bother? What's there that you haven't seen before?

Next year's new cars and sometimes some cool old ones. And something that no one would have ever or should have ever thought of frying.

The frying cooks off all the alcohol. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :fire :cheers2:

Uh huh, right. You have to show ID to buy it. And probably give them the number for your cardiologist too. "rlol"
