It looks like they may also be throwing out the big red "X" because of the "pop-ups". Even though they only happen when you purposefully click for comments.Russell wrote:Scott:
It looks like McAfee is popping up that warning due to there being no reviews for my site:

That's just dandy![]()
No real security risks, just a big red "X" due to there being no information on the site.
I have emailed McAfee to see what I can do to get this false positive taken care of.

I just went to the site without any problem at all......except that the first 30.06 site listed is "Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry". If my wife finds out she may sell all my guns.

Do you know which links those are? I have contacts in the AV world and might be able to help.

Just tried it; I get this message from McAfee: "Your requested URL has been blocked by the McAfee Web Gateway Trusted Source database module. The URL is listed as a High Risk Reputation site that is blocked by the proxy."

Maybe it's not a mistake. If you go into any of the places listed on the site, you ARE putting yourself in danger if you can't carry.

Another issue may not be your domain, but other domains on the server that hosts your domain may be causing the issue.
One of the issues our spam server, Iron Port, and various other software do here is look for servers that promote spam and various other issues, and our server blocks them all by reputation.
Even if one of our customers is on their server.
When that happens, our IT department has to 'white list' their domain directly, so it can still block the server, but not the domain.
however, you cant expect, if this is the issue, that anyone on Mcaffee changes their settings.
But just a thought to why it may happen

Your site is coming up clean for me right now..Russell wrote:Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I had a similar problem with my business web site a few years ago. It was hosted on a shared server and one of the other web sites on the same server had a security problem and the malicious code spread to other web sites on the same physical server. The anti-spam programs/google/etc blocked everything originating from that IP, as I understand it (admittedly not an IT guy, just techie enough to be dangerous).
I wound up with all/many of my site files containing malware and had to load clean backups of everything once the server-side issue was resolved.

*grrrr* Siteadvisor can produce false positives. (Resisting the urge to comment that McAfee is located in California.)AlaskanInTexas wrote:Just tried it; I get this message from McAfee: "Your requested URL has been blocked by the McAfee Web Gateway Trusted Source database module. Have you gone here
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/texas3006.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and 'registered' as the site owner?

I took a look at the site and strongly suspect that one of your problems is the number of JavaScript functions on the page that refer to "popup" somewhere in the function name. You might want to (1) move all of the JavaScript to a separate file and (2) replace "popup" anywhere it appears with something like "info" or "details".
Just my $0.02. Great site, by the way.
