Hoi thanks for the great job of co-ordinating this unruly group again. I had a great time during the morning session and at lunch. That afternoon session was fantastic I've never shot skeet or done any bird hunting, that was the most enjoyable afternoon of frustration I have had in a long time. Thanks Andy for taking the time to work with all of us novices,I know it had jack up your round.

Now to figure out how to afford another possible addiction, those who haven't shot a round of skeet before need to try it. Let's see need new shotgun, cases of shotshells, range fees and the time to practice. I need a raise wonder if I can sell it to my boss as a medical necessity.

Great to see all, just wish several of our members hadn't been under the weather.

Good luck setting up a similar get together down in Austin you can't beat a day of smelling gunpowder, good food, and great people. We had them from the 60's down to Lonewolf's boy's. It's good to see kids being brought up the right way and hopefully defenders of the 2A in the future.

I forgot to thank TAM for making my paper look a lot better. Now I wish I had brought it home. The .40 and .45 make similar enough holes that I don't think my wife could have discerned his holes from mine. And this is even more difficult since there weren't too many single holes made by TAM's .45. Mostly just one great big one!

Well, for it being a day with so much pain, I did OK I guess when I actually shot. My thanks to everyone for letting me try their guns, and most especially thanks to Pawpaw and others for helping carry my stuff to and from my car.

Lunch was great. The food there is good, and the fellowship was better.

I especially wish I had felt better for the skeet shooting. I love skeet, and even though it can be frustrating for a beginner at it, it is scads of fun. I just got to where I couldn't stand the back pain any longer and I had to go home and get horizontal.

Thanks to RAM4171 for letting my shoot your little Kahr MK9. You've just made arriving at a choice for a single stack 9mm that much harder, and I think you for it.

Also, I don't remember if it was you or Diesel42 or Chasfm11 who offered to let me shoot their Sig P250, but I regret that I didn't get around to doing that. I really wanted to, but got distracted.

I missed HotLeadSolutions' offer to try out his Walther PPS—another single stack 9mm on my list of "wanna try's."

Special thanks to Hoi Polloi for all that you did to get this thing organized. I know it is a lot of work, and your efforts are very much appreciated.

All of you are a great bunch of folks. It is my privilege to get to hang out with you. I have been flat on my back since I got home yesterday, but I'm going to try and get up and go get some lunch with my family. Wish me luck.

We definitely need to permanently add skeet as part of the get-together! We had a group of 10 out on the skeet field until 6:15. Andy coached us all through the first round which helped a ton. The second round saw a lot of improvement with just about everyone. If I remember correctly, one guy improved by 10 points in the second round. It was a ton of fun and I recommend that everyone tries it at some point. Just remember to bring sunblock! I got home and looked like a tomato

+1 on the tomato comment. Too much fun and I was just amazed that I hit any first trip out.

First of all ... a BIG thank you! to Hoi Polloi for putting this together. It was really great to meet some of the people we talk to everyday, online. What a great group of people!! I shot way to fast in the morning and gave up my station but, I sure enjoyed looking at what everyone had, helping one of our newer folks and shooting a few of the guns that I was interested in. TAM and Pawpaw are going to cost me about a grand  I love those Kimber's.

I also want to personally thank AndyC for his time and mentorship out on the skeet range. I'm that guy that doubled my score from the first to second round and now ... I'm really in trouble  that was addicting and I love my new O/U (first rounds through it). Soon as I find a friend to go out with me those "skeet" are really gonna be in trouble "rlol"

After the next couple weekends I'm going to be free. If you would be interested in going sometime with me and Caleb send me a PM.

I had such a great time and am so grateful for each and every one of you who came out, for those who offered their support and encouragement, for Andy's instruction, for C-dub and Beiruty and Ram's holsters (it seems like I'm missing someone in the holster list), and, as TAM said, for the fantastic fellowship. And what a gorgeous day to do it on! Thank you all for such a lovely day!

Do you think July 9 is too soon for the next one? Sunblock mandatory.

Andy,

You proved you have the patience of Job! I had an absolute blast on the skeet field!!!

I really enjoyed shooting my father's shotgun, but now I'm looking for an O/U that won't break the bank. Interchangeable choke tubes would be a plus.

Thanks again!

If you remember the O/U I had out there it's a Mossberg Silver Reserve. Walmart had one available for $480 ... sure beat's the $1k of anyone else ;-) and it comes with 3 different choke tubes.

I felt compeled to order the field combo ... has the receiver, 12ga O/U, 20ga O/U and case ... was $300 more. Now when I shoot those "skeet" I can make it more difficult than it already is :evil2:

Thanks, but you're just a little too late.

I went to the Big Town gun show this morning and this was calling my name:

It's a Browning Cynergy Classic Field 12 gauge.

Now I'm broke and it's all AndyC's fault! :rolll
