Speaking of keys for desks and such, a couple years ago I was given a desk at work but nobody had the key to be able to lock it. I did some searching online and was a bit surprised to find this site:TexCHLFan wrote: Locking your desk is usually intended to keep out cleaning crew or co-workers, but NOT someone with authority to get into your files, and otherwise items in your desk are either the property of or searchable by management or those with express authority.

Put in the brand and key number that's stamped on the lock and they'll happily send you the key for just about any desk, filing cabnet, etc. Sure enough, I ordered the key for my desk and it worked perfectly.
Moral of the story is, desk, cubicle, and filing cabinet locks are not secure.
