Need advise....
I am taking my son and my daughter to Wet &Wild Waterworld ( http://www.wetwild.com/ ) tomorrow and I can't find any info in their website re firearms. I am from El Paso. The water park is located at Anthony Texas... a small town just outside of El Paso. If I do not see a 30.06 sign or was not given notice upon entry tom, is it safe for me to carry? I just want to make sure. Thanks.

Re: Need advise....
If the facility is not posted with a valid 30.06 sign and no one orally informs you otherwise, you can legally carry a concealed handgun there.
If you are thinking of the old "amusement park" prohibition, that now requires 30.06 notification.
You need to keep it concealed while you change clothes. That can be done.

Re: Need advise....
Thank you so much Sir!... that old amusement park prohibition was in fact the one that gave me doubts. So, hopefully, they don't have the 30.06 signs there. I hate to leave my gun in the vehicle. Again thanks.

Maybe it's time to start our own local list of 30.06 sign postage, or does one exist already?

Re: Need advise....
Ok, just asking...
What is the "old" amusement park thing?
It's still listed as a prohibited place with no requirement for 30.06 in 46.035.

What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?

Re: Need advise....
In the first place, the old amusement park prohibition applied only to amusement parks in counties with more than one million population. I think only Bexar, Harris, Dallas, and Tarrant would pass that limit now.
In 2007 PC 46.035(i) was quietly added, which requires 30.06 posting at amusement parks, churches, hospitals, and government meetings—making them effectively the same as all private property.

You stopped reading too soon. Go all the way down to paragraph (i):Winchster wrote:Ok, just asking...

"Amusement park" is listed in (b)(5).(i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor
was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.

I remember hearing that it was written to cover Astroworld.seamusTX wrote:In the first place, the old amusement park prohibition applied only to amusement parks in counties with more than one million population. I think only Bexar, Harris, Dallas, and Tarrant would pass that limit now.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

Re: Need advise....
Correct. The management of Six Flags Astroworld in Houston threatened to stamp their feet and hold their breath until they turned blue unless they got an exclusion. That is why the wording of the law is so specific. At the time, only Harris County had more than a million residents.Ameer wrote:I remember hearing that it was written to cover Astroworld.
Ironically, the one time I went to Astroworld, there were no metal detectors or pat-downs. They only searched bags, coolers, etc., probably for food and booze.
Astroworld closed years ago.
