LT.

Lucky you, here in Atlanta we don't have much choice. We either buy from
wal-mart here or drive 25 mi. to Texarkana. No sporting goods, no nothing.

"here in Atlanta"? Quit being so uppity, trying to pretend you're from the big town! I know for a fact that there's two convenience stores right there in Bloomburg. Or you can always go "up town" to Domino, or "down south" to Three States/Rodessa.

;-)

If you come up to the Texas-side Wal Mart in Texarkana, give me a shout. I'm only a couple of miles away.

Great thing about that area. Rodessa, Ravanna Ark, Bloomburg, Evergreen, Three States, McCloud, Kildare, Bivins, is the crime rate.
BGs dont carjack, home invade, rob, rape or plunder there. Coarse population stats are more guns in houses than folk. Sounds kinda like the place we call home. Miss it up there sometimes tote 9. ;-)

The reason I said Atlanta was, no one knows where Bloomburg is except the
people who live there. Some do know where Atlanta is. I actually live between the
two. Yep, I'm a country boy but I come to Texarkana quite often. I'll
holler at you, my Son lives on State Line. :seeya:

I hear you LT. The crime rate here is still not nearly as bad as the big cities
but it's not like it was in the old days. I carry here like I would anywhere else.

Still a whole lot of meth production in Cass County, and a whole lot of stealing takes place to support it. Farm and construction equipment and four wheelers are favorite targets.

Dont doubt it a bit. Even when I was there, logging equip was a BIG target.
Most of the above was tongue in cheek remembering.
Guns still outnumber people in those places named, I bet.

Hello my name is Bigolbigun and I am a WalMart addict. I have been in recovery for 2 months. After several failed attempts to quit going cold turkey, I have been successful by weaning myself slowly off of the low price leader. No more quick trips for one thing turning into a basket full of ArmorAll wipes, Axe colonge gift packs,1/2 price DVD's, and pigs in a blanket that tasted good from the free sample but horrible at home. I am now in control of my own scene. I find it empowering to shop at a regular grocery store now. The isles are less crowded and the screaming kids are fewer. And by pushing around a shopping cart it does not always total $100.00 or more just by going in for 1 item. It has been a long hard road, and I will continue to struggle to avoid the big yellow smiley faced price slasher. But I know it is the right thing to do for my country and my checking account. I am looking into starting a Wally World Anonymous support group. Target has offered their break room for meetings, but i am not sure that is a good idea. At least not yet.

I figure if Wallyworld can stir up the ire of socialist, unions and democrats. That they deserve all the support that I can give them. While Sears, Macy's, Target and Federated have turned their backs on us, and won't sell any ammo Wallyworld is about the only big box chain that makes any show of support even if their service is a little crappy at times.

If your making reference to the Academy located along NE loop 820 next to the Honda dealer you are correct, it is a major PITA to access (its best to exit Holiday lane and drive behind the NRH PD building), however their ammo prices are MUCH better than CTD's - I don't know where CTD gets their dirt from but its over priced ;-)

Yeah, that's the one. Thing is I stop at CTD on the way home. I can get there by the back streets (Sylvania to Meacham to Mark 4 etc) and browse while the I35 traffic thins out.
No such route in the Holiday Lane area at 6:00.

But you are right, I need to stop by there more often. I do watch their sale ads.
Speaking of which, the biggest gun advertiser now is Dick's Sporting Goods. I need to go out there and look them over.

Well ...golly President's Day...a fine day to stroll over to Wal-Mart and/or Academy and buy a couple of boxes of ammo...don't reallllllly need it...but most all of them (da Prezs') in our history took to heart the actions and oath of 'protecting and defending' the Constitution; which last time I checked included the 2A!

Enjoy the day fellow citizens of our fine Republic!

So, I can assume that it might be a little too risky to go ask the pimply faced kid behind the gun counter if they have any "CHL Specials"? I guess it would blow your cover to have the kid screaming through the aisles after he figured out (via 3 breaks and a 2 hour lunch) what a CHL is.
