Moving to California!

#1

Post by T Bone »

Brothers!

I may be moving to California. I have had my CHL for about a year......

- I know that it is not recognized there but can I keep my Texas CHL? What do I need to do?
- Can I renew it from California when it comes time?
- Can I store my suppressors (illegal in California) in Texas?

Thanks guys.... :cheers2:

Boy, you really never appreciate the freedoms that you have until they get taken away!

3 words: Don't do it! I was just there. It's where I was raised and lived most of my life. It totally SUCKS! There isn't anything in California, jobs included, that is worth moving there.

I suspect that BATF won't let you store your suppressors away from your residence, but I'm not an authority on that by any means.

Change your address and pay the fee.

Thanks Guys.... For the advice but not the ribbing :)

I am very thankful for the great state of Texas, I will gladly come back to take the CHL course when I need to renew.

On the suppressors, is there a place where I can research the rules a bit more? I want to ensure that I comply..... There is no way that I want to give my suppressors away but my choices are to store them in Texas or Florida.

Can a class III FFL store them? I am out of my knowledge circle on this issue but I can't see why you have to give them up.

Interesting! Since you would have one of the 2 keys! It is in your control.... I need to research though, I don't like being a felon.

My thought as well. It would be an interesting option if legal.

Well, I'm glad you have that option, but still wish it wasn't needed. Commiefornia! :banghead:

Don't have anything else to offer, but wanted to extend my condolences. Hope the opportunity there is worth the loss of freedoms & higher taxes - and I mean that in a sincere way, not a snarky way!

Thank you brother. Trust me the taxes and my 2nd Amendment rights were forefront on my mind. I view it as a working vacation in a communist state until I return! :txflag:
