Texas CHL App for Android Iphone

I would love an Android app. (I'm typing this response from my nexus s 4g)!

The Android App is already in the Market.
I searched "CHL" and didn't find it.... so.. I searched "Texas" and there it was..

Has anyone installed this on a Kindle Fire?

I haven't, but I've got a Fire...I'll give it a go this evening.

I haven't been able to figure out how to install this app on a Kindle Fire. The app is only available on market.android.com and the Kindle Fire isn't one of the supported devices. Is anyone aware of a way around this?

you can root the Kindle, or sideload the apps.


I haven't gotten around to installing this yet, but will give it a go when I get some downtime.

Someone should check with Russell to see if he minds using the data he's accumulated at texas3006.com.

I have already emailed him to see if he would be interested in teaming up. He replied and said he is pondering through possible solutions on how we can accomplish it.

I realize this is really old, but did this end up happening? It seems like it would be fairly trivial to build a web service on top the database and hand out API keys to people who want to build applications to interface with the data you've collected. This gives you the flexibility to revoke access if something has a negative impact on your site/bandwidth/whatever or restrict access to free apps, or whatever.

Would be a cool thing to tie into the location services on smartphones to pull up a list of places nearby that are posted, etc.

One easy cross platform solution is just to use the google maps API combined with the standard W3C location API.

That covers the bulk of the smartphone market, as well as normal PC users.

I'll poke around a bit when I have some free time.
