CHL and moving

#1

Post by T Bone »

Hey Guys,

I joined a club where they have mail services and they are a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency. I get a Texas Address and they redirect my mail to whereever I am in the US. I am moving to California.

Is is acceptable to update my CHL to the new Texas Address or do I have to use my address in California (which I don't have yet)?

Any informed opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Your CHL address must match your legal residence address, so once you declare residency in California then you will need to change your CHL address to match your legal residence, hence making it become a non-resident license.

Thanks Keith..... I just want to ensure that I am complying with the law.

When it comes time for renewal and I am still in Kaliforniastan, can I renew my Texas CHL? What do I have to do?

If there is somewhere I can read this, please point me out.

Thanks brothers.

If you are still in the PRK when it is time to renew you will have to come to TEXAS :txflag: to take your renewal class. I know leaving all that sun and surf will be hard, just remember TEXAS :txflag: is God's country.

Thanks MoJo and Keith. Keith responded to a thread that I started in January about this topic. I just can't find the eligibility of out-of-state people applying for Texas CHL.

I will really miss Texas....
