carry ar the fireworks show?

It's gonna be at a high school football stadium. City function, not a school function. What do y'all think?

carry whenever and wherever possible. you never know when you'll need it. its not being paranoid, its being prepared.

You're not in a school building. This is not a school athletic event or any type of school function. IANAL, but I don't see where you would be breaking any laws if you have a CHL. That said, if you do carry, conceal well, because there might be some LEOs who aren't up to speed on the legal definition of school "premises".

At first read of the title, I thought someone might be planning to tote their AR-15 to a fireworks show :patriot: That'd be all-American.....get you some attention, yep.

......or the AR was gonna be the fireworks show...... ah, well.

If the stadium is owned by the school - then it would be off limits - school property and if I understand correctly the stadium would count as "premises". JMPHO

ETA: Most school stadiums have gated "limited access" entry ways, and most we have been to in the past couple years have metal detectors and you can't even tote a pocket knife and they search your purses. To me this would be a no way!

I believe a domed stadium is a building whereas one that lacks a roof is a structure but not a building. IANAL & IANAPE

Stay away from any buildings, if it has walls and restroom facility it looks like a building, no? Then it is off limit if it is part of school. If you stay in a yard then it is Okay. Watch the fireworks from a lawn outside any building.

A high school stadium is a building/facility. You are good right up to the entrance gate to the stadium. Beyond that point it is a felony. Your call.

Kind of after the fact ... I was wondering this same thing but, when I got to the gate of the Pearland HS stadium where the festivities were to be held there it was... a 30.06 sign right at the entrance. It's not a building andit's not inside the school but it is on school grounds... There were many...MANY police on the premises and the sign was clear as a bell.

Then there is the issue of posting a 30.06 on a government building not a court or council meeting room. Our stadiums are posted with 30.05 which occasionally gets enforced when some yahoo creates a problem.
