I went thru the outside ATM and teller at two banks. Then down to Collin Creek Mall and walked the halls and into a few stores. I'm getting pretty confident carrying now.

Same here - work at a school and employee handbook prohibits firearms anywhere on property so can't even leave it in the car. No 30.06 wording but still wouldn't want to lose my job.
Admin has officer go through the parking lot a couple times a year with K9 looking for drugs. Anyone know if the K9s hit on firearms too?
YES, my friend got busted bc he had empty shotgun shells in the back seat of his truck.

12/7 (haven't gone anywhere today...)

After disarming for the Post Office (and parking across the street), I armed myself and went to:
Wal*Mart
Corner Stop-n-Rob
Best Buy
Target
Local music store
PetSmart
Gas Station
Applebee's - (note, I went to the restroom where, as I was leaving, a man who was open carrying came in. Must have been a cop but he wasn't in uniform. For the record, it didn't scare the public.)

Disarmed for the company Christmas party.

Well I am about to attend a Christmas party for a small city. I, being and appointed official, am invited. Since all city council members will be there along with water dept and police, i am not sure what all that means. So i will not carry. I believe I will sit so if a bg comes in shooting, he/she will have to go through the police dept first. Maybe everyone will be out of ammo by the time they get to me. The restaurant is a blue sign per TABC website by the way.

One question I have that I have not asked about; Is this a meeting under the open meetings act since all council members are there? If so, I believe I would be restricted from carrying. Right/Wrong?

Not unless it's posted (30.06 sign). This and church confuses a lot of folks. :txflag:

I guess I think about it differently so a question about where I carried today is really strange to me. Answering in explicit detail is even stranger.

I struggle with Ayoob sometimes (he's an odd duck  ) but I agree with him that if you're going to carry, carry all the time. Otherwise, I think some people get way over caught up in "carrying" and over think and over plan their life, around carrying. I'd rather leave it in the safe than to stress myself out like that. And it's no one's business what and where I'm carrying unless I feel it is.

That said, I carry everywhere my pants go, with the exception of where only my pants are not prohibited. Luckily I don't have to keep a lock-box in my vehicles for my pants. :txflag:
