Arrest Record - Certified Copies

#1

Post by FastDriver »

With a Class A misdemeanor arrest over 19 years ago in Glendale, AZ and disclosed on the CHL application, will they need certified copies? It was not asked for on the checklist and I did not supply them any documents either. Some of the posts I have read while lurking makes me think that I will now have to delay and get certified copies.

TIA

It can't hurt to have the paperwork for your own records but at this point I would wait until DPS asks before sending them a copy.

I think I will request copies on Monday to at least get the process started.

Yes Yes Certified signed copies would have made the process go faster. But just not for CHL permits , in everyday life situations , always be prepared, know all the facts yourself and have the evidence.

Thanks for the info guys. I received a couple letters:

Is the certified letter from Glendale enough to clear the request from DPS?

Here is the one from DPS

and here is the Glendale letter.

I also have the certification letter to go along with it.

I don't work for DPS but I think the letter from Glendale should be enough. It seems to say no misdemeanors within five years.

Good luck! :thumbs2:

For my arrests records (1991/2005), I included screenshots from the County Clerk's website showing the disposition. I figure it might work, so we'll see. I used the websites to obtain the information for the application's arrest section since I couldn't remember.

The 2005 is angers me because I got a butthead cop looking for a reason to bust me. It seems like a contrived story, but the cop at the scene had 2 people separated give the same story, but it didn't matter. I had a friend dress up as Fidel Castro for halloween & he carried a police baton around all night, but left it at the party. We stuck it in the car to return it to him, but it was forgotten . . . until the officer found it.
