Here We Go!!!

#1

Post by tex45acp »

This may be the wrong place to post this, but I am asking all of you to pray for us down here on the Gulf Coast. My office is in Port Lavaca, TX and according to the National Hurricane Center....we just might be ground zero for this storm known as Rita. I believe there will be a mandatory evacuation of this area within the next 24-48 hours. I am heading north to my home located north of I-10 to wait out the storm. I am planning to close and board up the office either late today or by noon on Thursday.

Those of you who will be affected by this storm:

May God protect you and your families and keep you and your families from harm. May he spare your homes and property and if you travel from this area, take care of you.

In Christ's name I Pray
Amen
Texas.....Nuff Said!!!

Yes, this sounds like it will be a wild ride. I'm in Katy which is typically unaffected by most storms and I'm wondering how hard we're going to get hit. Do I try and board up my house or not, leave or stay, send the family and stay???? Too many questions and uncertainty of where it's going to go.

Charles, are you bugging out or hunkering down?

and stay safe. Looks like Rita would have to do a 180 to keep her from hurting somebody.

I live in Friendswood, about 25 miles from Galveston. We'll loose power, thus Internet access, soon after it hits, so I'm sure I'll be off the forum for an extended period of time. I’m sure others will also, and our prayers will be with you. We have a generator, but our Roadrunner service will be down and I don't have a dial-up account. The phones will probably be out anyway.

Stay safe folks!

I don't have a dial-up account
Download AOL now while you still have connectivity, sign up and you get the first month free.
This way you can have access to more reliable news sources than TV

You guys call if the crap hits the fan. I'm in College Station right now, but I'll be in Navasota for the weekend holding down the fort with the fam on our property (roughly 200 acres with the almost all immediate family having homes on it).

That said, I dont mind going into Houston if need be. I have a big truck and can make it through alot of crap.

I should have internet as well, so I can post updates, or contact people for you if you cant.

May the good Lord look out for everyone. Please stay safe.

People on the gun boards are always saying what they "would" do when the a problem arises. Well folks, I believe that the ocillator is about to be obliterated.

They are predicting winds up to 80 miles per hour here, and we are 300 miles from the coast. May need to replace the ropes with chains on my old 172.
