Houston, Texas

A man fatally shot a suspected carjacker late Tuesday in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in north Houston, police said.
Police said the car owner shot an armed attacker about 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant on Little York and Interstate 45.
The man died at the scene.
HPD officers said the owner of a gold-colored Pontiac sedan with decorative rims was apparently trying to return a video to a rental movie kiosk outside the McDonald's when he was confronted by the suspected carjacker.
The man has a license to carry a concealed weapon. He was not injured and was being interviewed late Tuesday.
Police said there may be two suspects still on the loose and one may have been shot. Officers did not have a detailed description.
Officers said they have found "several" weapons at the scene that apparently were used by the carjacking suspects.
Although the investigation is continuing, police said the fatal shooting appears to be justified.
