The wait for the CHL to arrive is longer than the wait a child endures for Santa to arrive. Pure excruciating agony.

Well...Look at it this way...At least they hung up on you...John_Rodriguez wrote:Well, that was a very short and informative phonecall. Basically "We received your application on Sept29 and it's processing. Thank you." *CLICK*

They didn't make you wait on hold...They had some interesting elevator music in the background, the last time I called...
It sounded like KennyG doing some Metallica on a low-power AM radio station...

Thats a good idea...dws1117 wrote:For many the wait can seem long and excruciating. It certainly was true in my case. I was more anxious waiting for my CHL than I am waiting for my 2nd child to be born (due in march BTW).
Chas, would it be possible to make a sticky with the above listed phone numbers?
The phone numbers being the main thing, maybe with a direct link to the TxDPS CHL website...

If they don't have any flags pop up on the investigation, or some "other" issue (which is not your fault)...
I'd put money on late November, early December...But thats just my guess...
Its a painful wait, I know...
This is your initial permit right??? Not a renewal???

I've been seeing a 90 day turn around...I saw your first post indicating a Sept 29th deal and marked up from there...John_Rodriguez wrote:Why early december? Don't they have 60 calender days to give you the permit? It was sent August 29th, the pin # envelope was dated sept13th. This is first time license.
I still think you might see it during the first half of November...
You're getting close...
I'd probably make another phone call(s) starting the first week in November, if of course, you don't see it in the mail...
By all means let us know when you get it...

Also...
Since the Pin# was issued on 9/13/05...
I would say that that is when they actually started getting your information in the packet entered into the system, and distribute the fingeprint cards to the prospective agencies, assigned you to an investigator's pile of stuff, and off you go...
Once all the information comes back to that investigator, and there are no "hits" that need additional attention, it'll be forwarded to the licence production folks who put it all in license form with all the other folks at that point, and churn them out slap it in an envelope, and off it goes to your mailbox...
If nothing causes them to take another look at you, or if they "don't" have a problem with the quality of the fingerprints (this has been the latest hiccup they manufacture), I still think you'll see it in early November...
If you get it before then, Merry Christmas...
