It says "Unable to verify validity of 30.06 sign" "In Lobby - West Wall" and that the address is listed as RED at TABC. I confirmed the listing as current, but just like the entry says, "Unknown whether this is limited to a bar area as opposed to the entire facility."

I'll be there tonight and will post what I find out, but has anyone been there recently who can provide more info today?
Moody Theater was built for the now called, ACL Live taping's and other music production right? If so, although I haven't been there, theaters similar that I've been in have separate bar areas where an independent operator runs beer, wine and liquor sales. The business is dedicated to only the space it occupies and not the rest of the facility.

Is Moody owned by the city or county? I can't find that either.

This is not always the case. When the license is issued, TABC gets a diagram of the area for the license to cover. It is possible that the independent vendor may hold the liquor license for the whole address, and as such, the whole address is off limits. A good example is a bowling alley with a bar. If the bar can sell alcohol and it be taken out to the lanes, or they have waitresses that deliver to the lanes, then it could cover the whole alley. This has been confirmed by TABC and a retired TABC senior officer who is a member of this forum.

Sounds like another dilemma, like Court Houses, Court Rooms and Court Offices.

Willie was great, but...
Shaun Jordan, Austin District 4 Licensing Supervisor, TABC wrote:The permit covers the audience area and public areas. You may not carry a concealed handgun.
I posted a new comment on texas3006.com and also pointed out that there are bars severing on multiple levels inside the theater.

Now we know.

Thanks for the confirmation. As I stated before, the licensee states where they want covered in the building, and it could be for the whole thing. Another good example of this is the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. No one would think it would be off-limits, but the whole place is a 51% location since the concession vendor holds the liquor license for the building and makes more than 51% of their profit from the sale for on premise consumption. :banghead:

It is a 51% establishment. I just confirmed it with a friend if mine who is a manager there.
