I grew up in Terrell (aka turrll if you're from here) and have tried VERY HARD to get the "east texas twang" out of my vocabulary. I've never been completely sucessful and it slips back in without much trouble.

We were in Tyler over the weekend and asked a lady where we could find an ATM. She said "the closest one is out at Brookshires on the lo-oo-op". I had forgotten "loop" has 3 syllables.

Kilgore counts. Been through there, Kilgore definitely counts.

I been livin here with dem city folk so long I done for-got how to tawlk too. But mie wif says I talk like a hIkk ery time we go see my maw-maw.

but she sounds like a yankee anytime she gets on the phone with her dad too. I just love how she says ROOT... like Rut or something... cracks me up.
I understand the problem. After visiting relatives in Louisiana, I return home barely speaking acceptable English.

Welcome Sir,

I am just outside of "Nac" myself.

Does your forum name have anything to do with Labradors per chance?

I also welcome you retrieverman. If the answer to the above Q is a resounding yes, well, see the possibility of a budding friendship. Glad to have you.
If you need a place to shoot, we both are members of Angelina Rifle & Pistol Club. I am Range Safety Marshall & would invite you out for a shoot & tour.

Up a little early this morning even for you Flint.
Have a great day.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and I am already a member of the Angelina Rifle and Pistol Club.

My username does reflect my "attachment" to Labs. My current lady friend (Sugar) will be 12 in October, but she is still in excellent health and loves to retrieve. I quit hunting her a couple of years ago, but we do a lot of retrieving just for fun.

This picture was taken on her last hunt. We were on my Dad's place in Alfalfa Co. Oklahoma on the Salt Fork river.

Welcome as well! Nice looking Choc you have there. I have a 7yr old male... He is one of the kids.

LT, looks like we are getting quite a following here in the East Texas area. What you think about putting together an ET Shoot. I will offer my services to do the cooking. I also have access to mucho cardboard.
