Welcome to the forum!

"Premises" is defined in TPC 46.035(f)(3) and does exclude parking lots. This definition is also adopted on TPC 46.03(c)(1). However, this definition of "premises" has not been adopted in TPC §30.06 - Trespass by a License Holder. So the narrower definition is not applicable in trespass cases. However, a parking lot is not off-limits to CHL's unless a 30.06 sign is posted at the parking lot entrance, or the CHL is given verbal notice that guns are not allowed on the property.

Regards,
Chas.
