My wife sent all of her paperwork in the 3rd week of January, it is still listed as "processing". No further information from Austin. Not particularly happy about it, anyone know what the problem is down there?

What is the definition of "Complete Application". :???:

We've now submitted the third additional set of fingerprints to the original application which was submitted "complete" in its entirety on 12/17/07). :banghead: Incidentally, the second (2nd) sets of ADDITIONAL fingerprints were taken by different guys in different locations from the initial set. ALL three (3) previous prints have been rejected :rules: .

Perhaps this fourth (4th) set taken by DPS' own FAST system and mailed on 18 April 2007 will be accepted? :grumble We've already waited in excess of 120 days, how much longer will it take - who knows?

I emailed Austin to ask about "Packet Mailed to Applicant" status on website on April 21, 2008; as a new CHL applicant I was not aware of the processing times, general slowness etc. The reply I recieved stated it currently takes 6-8 weeks before someone gets entered into the system. Futhermore the website would be updated to then read "Processing Application" at the time of entry into the system.

It's been eight working days since my packet was received in Austin (according to USPS) and nothing had shown up on-line so I emailed them asking about the normal delay. The email I received back said it could take 6-8 weeks to get the packet entered into the system and then it'd show up as processing. That's 42-64 days just to get it in the system, already blowing (or nearly) the deadline. I'm thinking the person replying (generic address, reply all caps) didn't know what they were talking about.

At least I hope so.

Hmm. Is that 60 calendar days or working days? Guess calendar as the statute doesn't specify working.

Its " suppose" to be calender days, however lately it seems as if they have changed it to working days. I got the same 6-8 week all caps email. Seeing as i filled my stuff out online and had no changes they cant possible take that long as theres nothing to type into the system. I wouldnt worry to much about getting the pin...In my opinion it just drives you more insane. Atleast you only check the mail once a day; when you get you pin youll be checking the website mid morning after lunch and just after 5 pm. Or maybe thats just me...Pull up a chair and join us in the waiting room...where its always 5 o'clock.

The all caps email again. At first I thought the person sending the email was doing that on purpose to simulate what it would be like talking to them in person. Everyone knows the type...loud, rude...arrogant. Basic attitude of entitlement. The usual government employee type. Now I am beginning to think more along the lines of, so ignorant as to not know when to capitalize a word. This actually explains the delays in entering data to the system quite well. :biggrinjester: Could also be older software being used. DOS would call for cap locks on. In any case...little miss cap locks isn't representing herself very well to the public.

Ah...yes...I did it online. Checking twice a day would be obsessive, so that makes me...er..never mind.
