Welcome Agdude
Since this is a unproven issue, I would not wear mags exposed. You are telling the world you have a gun somewhere on your body or why else would you carry around magazines? You are also telling the world you are a gun nut, which I, of course, consider a compliment!
When in doubt, don't whip it out!!!
Also, txinvestigator is a no nonsense kind of guy who knows his When he talks, listen!!

I respectfully disagree.
Suppose you're with a group of people.. and on a whim they decide to pull into (so and so mall) that is posted. You are wearing a "belted strong side rig", a lot of trouble to put on and remove.
You remove the pistol to comply with the posting.. but leave your extra mags. and flashlight on the belt (concealed) for the short trip into the mall.
While seated in a restaurant the bottom of your mag pouch is showing slightly when an "anti" notices and complains to management. The cold hard facts are you do not have a weapon so why should there be a problem. Another: What if I stopped by the sporting goods dept. of said mall, purchased two boxes of ammo, a couple of magazines and a holster. Let's say they are in a shopping bag on the floor by my chair, but in plain view of someone seated at the next table. I am in possession of items legal for me to have (until I combine them with a firearm), why would that be a problem for anyone.
This is just another reason I would like to see open carry adopted in Texas, but not be required. It would do away with many of the unanswered questions concerning carry.
Flint.

Your whole life is a crap shoot. Once you realize this then you have to deal with the law.agdude wrote:Charles:
I didn't realize it worked like that... That's good info to have. So basically it's a crapshoot. Doesn't seem to be strictly forbidden, but doesn't seem like fun to be the test case either.

I'll just respond to both of you. This thread has done exactly what the thread starter did not want. Forums take their own path, and to demand a question be answered a certain way means I don't care to answer. However, the thread starter explained himself, and we began a dialog. There is no "big fish" attitude here.
I would also say, "pot, meet kettle"
