I can't say I have ever noticed them on a retail store or any shop type of store. Only have seen them on the nursing home and doctors.

I voted other.
While my first inclination is to not enter the premises and let the proprietor know why he lost my business, I will judge each situation individually.
The first 30.06 sign I encountered after getting my CHL was at LifeShares blood center. I've been a long time donor and was one of their go to people for platelet donation. Platelets can only be stored for about 6 days. They are critical for several conditions including cancer treatment. The need for platelets was brought home to me a couple of years ago when one of the members of our riding club came down with a severe case of Thrombocytopenia. (His platelets were bad and had to be replaced with good ones.) In the first few days he was receiving 8 units of platelets. There can be little doubt that 2 of those units came from me.
A few years after that, I came down with cancer. As the surgeon was checking with me to see of I had any religious prohibitions against receiving blood products, I mentioned that I was a long time donor. His comment that, "We'll your going to be getting some of it back." again brought home the serious, life and death, nature of blood donation. I was ineligible for donation until had been cancer free for one year. As I went in for my first post cancer donation, I was sad to see that sign. But I disarmed, went in and donated. I did express my displeasure with the sign.
If by myself and I see that sign on a restaurant, I read it as a "Guy is not welcome," sign and go elsewhere. If I'm with a group, I'll go in once but make it clear to the group that I will not return to that restaurant. I tell them why, and I also tell the restaurant. They can meet there without me, or we can go somewhere else next time.
I know it wasn't part of the poll question, but I'll throw it out there any way. I ignore gun buster signs, and don't point out to anybody that the sign carries no legal weight. I've got to be careful though. I live a block away from the Arkansas State line, so obviously spend a lot of time in Arkansas. I also go to Shreveport LA at least six time per year. Gun buster signs are legal in those States, and I've got be to careful to not forget that.
edit - I guess that was a long winded post, but what I'm trying to say is that, for me, the need for blood and platelet donation outweighs the need to make a point about 2A.

When it comes to a big box store (IMHO) it doesn't do any good telling the people in the store. They might agree but its corporate policy. A mom & pop store I might go in and talk with them. The biggest thing I vote with my wallet, put a sign up I go else where.
