My chief concern if disarmed by an LEO is his/her unfamiliarity with my Glock 19.

I know LEO's are familiar with guns, but I'd be a bit (no, make that very concerned) with an ND in my direction if mishandled/bungled in the act of disarming me...as LEO's can't be familiar with every make and model...

I really like reading when LEO's perform a traffic stop and are informed that the driver is carrying, they simply tell the folks to keep their guns in their holster and all will be well.

I had 2 encounters with LE. One my elderly Uncle hit a deer & I arrived at the scene after he call me for help.
DPS & County Sheriff deputy arrived. Deputy asked for my license also. Both told me I was legal no problem.
I was stopped by BCSO in SA on my way home from work. That guy asked me if I could leave my weapon on the seat & stand in from of his vehicle while he wrote me a ticket. When I asked him if he wanted to disarm me he said no you can do it.

I would say it depends on the LEO. At my last [pre-paid legal] meeting. [pre-paid legal] is going around to different LE agencies educating them on Open Carry.
I don't plan to open carry. but its going to be interesting. :-) :fire
