What chance is that?
Beating the rap, but not not beating the ride.

Why is that a chance? 30.06 is not enforceable in places owned or leased by a governmental entity.

If we are worried some errant cop is going to intentionally violate our civil rights and potentially commit a crime himself by arresting us for something that is clearly not a violation of the law, then we better stop carrying at all. You know, TPC 46.02 makes carrying a handgun illegal.

Just a thought. ;-)

Only ~if~ the 30.06 sign is valid yes? Or should I say only if the cop ~thinks~ the sign is valid...

uhmmm, I don't take the chance of going thru the GUARDED gate, to the parking lot packing. Also, I don't need problems with my daughters school. I already payed a 500 dollar fine, just because she ditched some days. If you have ever dealed with the independent school system, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't feel like going before the district court judge again.

Why wold you be taking a chance doing something that is not illegal.

And the gate being guarded means nothing. Are they searching vehicles?

I thought I made myself very clear. If you want to go in a no gun zone, that has a quard post with a sherrif in it, pass through him with a smile while he stands next to the NO GUNS sign, that's up to you.

I will NOT. You do what you want, I do what I want. CASE CLOSED....................

And to answer your question, YES. They have been know to even check the trunk of vehicles when leaving the school. Some kids will leave the school grounds in trunks of vehicles, or hide behind the front seats. I guess it's been a LONG since youv'e been to a school.

Please understand I mean no reflection on your daughter. But what you describe sounds more like a correctional facility than a school. The schools I know about are NOT like that.

BINGO...you can't imagine what they have put me through. I also have another court date, because my daughter was with a group of kids that were smoking cigarettes, and they all recieved a ticket. I appear in court next week. The fine will be $280 plus court fees.

When I went to court for my daughters absences, the judge told me that even if I drop my daughter and escort her to the FRONT door, if she leaves, I am still responsible. I was given a warning, but my daughter was fined 500 dollars. I am responsible for paying it. I saw a Father and his son, both get fined 500 dollars each.

I live Comal County, and from what i saw, they only want more revenew. But that's another story.

We are under no legal obligation to obey fake "no gun" signs or incorrectly posted 30.06 signs. If I sheepishly obeyed every one of those I saw, I might as well leave my guns at home.

On the other hand, if I had a situation where my child was being disobedient and rebellious, I would seriously consider leaving my guns in the safe instead of in the car, loaded.

It is NOT A NO GUN ZONE. Simply posting a sign does not make it a NO GUN ZONE. :banghead:

Please tell me the name of the school, I have GOT to see a Deputy Sheriff being a parking lot monitor. Thats funny.

I'd like to see any LEO demanding to search a vehicle leaving a parking lot, too.
