Or it could just be the way I designed the form to make it easy to distinguish the form from the submitted information.

But that makes sense. All caps in an email reply, consistently, makes me think they're cutting and pasting from another email or a saved document.

Ignorant gets my vote...some of the State workers leave a lot to be desired in the common sense department.

The typing in all caps has two common causes. A lack of understanding in the usage of proper grammar and punctuation; or a lack of knowledge in typing. It is typical to see responses from people that can not type in either all lower case, or all caps (shift lock key used).

One other thought I had, has to do with the forms this person is filling in on the computer. These forms probably require entries in ALL CAPS, similar to the Post Office's edicts of typing an address in all caps with no punctuation.

The person when switching to email, does not hit the "shift lock" or "caps lock" key to go into a typing mode with ascenders and descenders (mix of capital and lower case letters), and thus the result is the ALL CAPS igmo email

Where can I check the status of my CHL application on line? I see some people mentioning that. I'm at 97 days from the day they got my certified mail, and several e-mail requests later, and still waiting. Thanks.

It looks like I'm not going to get my renewal by the expiration date on my CHL. :grumble I expire Wed of next week and I'm still "processing." Admittedly, I should have sent it sooner, but really? 60 days isn't enough time to renew an existing CHL? I call bull on that. It should take 1 minute to run the update since there is NOTHING to find. Sounds like they need to hire a few more people to process applications and renewals.

I'll be feeling naked while I finish the wait. What a downer.

One hundred fifty (150) days ago today, Mrs Oldgringo submitted her initial application. One (1) month ago today, Mrs Oldgringo submitted her fourth (4th) set of fingerprints. As of this date, she still doesn't have her CHL.

Any suggestions?

a heads up...

#45

Post by SD4 »

Since I reached my 60 day mark, I sent an email to DPS to see if there was anything on my end that was holding up the application. A few days later, I got a response that said my app was still "going through the normal processing" and to expect processing time to be 90-120 days. I just received the response this morning, which is odd because it is a Saturday. ...but just a heads up to everyone currently in the queue.
